CleanCrete a recycled concrete aggregate would reduce green house gas emissions by up to a staggering 80 per cent, and would also increase strength, durability and improve life cycle. This product is jointly developed by Clean Concrete Technologies and Nicolia Industries. A research conducted by these companies shows that the reduction of Portland cement and high use of post-consumer recycled materials in CleanCrete dramatically reduces CO2 emissions and aids in the fight against global warming. The research further states that the impact of utilising CleanCrete’s technology is as little as 5 per cent of the various concrete markets could account for a yearly reduction of over 117 million tonne of CO2. The spokesperson said that CleanCrete is concrete and can be installed like concrete. No special equipment or handling is necessary so there is no learning curve or additional labour required. Finishing of CleanCrete is like typical concrete. It can be coloured, stained, stamped or acid-etched for a decorative finish..
