Essroc Ready Mix has received the Green Star Certification from the National Ready Mix Concrete Association (NRMCA). Green Star is a programme promoted by NRMCA in cooperation with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Highway’s Partnership. The programme recognises companies and facilities, located throughout the state of Virginia, that demonstrate excellence through compliance with rigid standards for the reduction of environmental impact and ongoing principles of sustainability. The certification includes a rigorous, structured certification process capable of withstanding third-party oversight. The NRMCA bases this certification on the ten guiding principles – top management commitment, compliance assurance, enabling systems, measurement and continual improvement, public communications, industry leadership, awareness and outreach, training & development and research and demonstration.
