Cemex SAB de CV announced its California-based truck fleet has been awarded with the 2011 Fleet Safety Award from the California Trucking Association (CTA). The award gives CTA recognition for Cemex USA as the safest bulk pneumatic carrier in the State of California. The award was in recognisation to the Inclusive 18 tractor trailer trucks and their skilled drivers, who along with the fleet logged over 1.5 million miles without a reportable incident. The fleet regularly transports bulk cement, fly ash and gypsum and is managed from Cemex USA’s operations in Victorville, California. The company also stated that its fleet has passed all inspections carried out by the California Highway Patrol over the past four years.
