Lafarge WAPCO enhances logistics systems with new trucks

In line with its commitment to satisfy its customers by making its products available across the country, Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria Plc, has begun its pet project, Lafarge Logistics Project, with a programmed acquisition of 1,000 state-of-the-art trucks to enhance its logistics system. According to a statement by the company, the project’s inauguration was held at its Ewekoro plant, where 75 brand new Mack trucks were unveiled by Omooba Gbenga Osinowo, Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry. Samy Abdelkader, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lafarge WAPCO said, "Our newly acquired trucks will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our company’s logistics network of distribution nationwide, as we are gearing towards the inauguration of the 2.5-metric-tonne Lakatabu plant at the end of the second quarter of this year." Abdelkader added that the new logistics arrangement was in partnership with some reputable banks and transport companies, including TSL Limited, Rembam Nigeria Limited, K K Logistics, ABC Transport Company and Safe Wheelers Limited.
