Taiwan Cement plans three plants in China

Taiwan Cement Corp, Taiwan`s leading cement producer, will start the construction of three cement plants in Sichuan and Guizhou provinces, China. The three plants that the company will invest in will include a second-stage production line in Prosperity Cement plant in Chongqing of Sichuan province. The other two will be new cement plants in Guangan of Sichuan province and Anshun of Tsizhou province. These two plants will be completed in mid-2011, raising the company’s annual capacity by four million metric tonne. After the completion of Anshun cement plant, Taiwan Cement plans to launch a second-stage expansion. Taiwan Cement vice president CC Huang has said that the company will invest in production expansion in China in 2011. The company envisages a growth in its capital expenditure to approximately $200 million in China. With its expansion in China, Taiwan Cement will witness a rise in its total production capacity to 60 mt in 2011. This will make Taiwan Cement Corp one of the top-three cement producers in Greater China.
